Longwang Restaurant Brisbane
In the heart of Brisbane’s bustling CBD, nestled between towering buildings is the newly opened Longwang Restaurant. The space was originally a fire escape for the opposing buildings, spanning a modest three and a half meters in width and stretching 30 meters in length.
Kris Kowalski Architects was commissioned to design an innovative multi-level structure with an open rooftop overlooking bustling Edward Street below. The design posed significant challenges, adapting to stringent fire safety regulations and a compact footprint.
Clui Designs was given the difficult challenge of creating a custom-designed modern Asian fit-out including an open-air rooftop bar, ideal for those long summer evenings, a cocktail lounge, and enough space to accommodate 120 guests.
Dove Industry was contacted to design and incorporate a weatherproof retracting roof system. The Markilux Pergola Stretch was chosen for its all-weather qualities and compliance with fire safety standards, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor dining.
