Shaun Lockyer – Valhalla House

This beautifully restored Queenslander has been transformed with substantial alterations and modern additions. This bespoke handcrafted home occupies a unique double block in Ascot. Complete with a tennis court and swimming pool the design completes the narrative of a family home.

The use of Vental operable louvres has been integrated into the design of the house, helping stabilise internal temperatures through the year by controlling solar heating on the western facade. Automating the external venetian blinds with a Somfy control system was an important step for controlling the amount of light entering the room depending on the time of day.
